Sue Castorino is president of The Speaking Specialists, providing media training, crisis communication, issue management, public speaking instruction and private coaching to individuals and groups. She founded the company in 1986, following a distinguished career in broadcast journalism.
She advises leaders in business, medicine, law, technology, finance, and sports organizations. She works with collegiate and professional athletes in all sports at the highest levels, including American Olympians. She has conducted communications sessions for executives and professional in North America, South America, and Europe. She also serves on the faculty of Loyola University School of Communication, teaching two courses: Public Speaking & Critical Thinking, and Sports Journalism.
Castorino spent more than fifteen years as a news anchor and reporter at several stations, including all-news WBBM-AM (CBS-Chicago), all-news WERE-AM (NBC Cleveland), & WWWE-AM (ABC-Cleveland). During that time, she conducted thousands of interviews and covered major events. Castorino has hosted a variety of shows and several award-winning programs.
Castorino is a frequent lecturer and seminar leader on topics ranging from "Dealing with 21st Century Media", "The Impact of the Internet and Social Media", and "Freedom from Fear of Public Speaking", discussing persuasive communications, overcoming speaking anxiety, understanding the media, and crisis management. She also narrates documentaries and special programs. A native of Columbus, Ohio, she is a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Speech.
Randy Minkoff is partner in The Speaking Specialists, a full-service communications company based in Chicago. As a reporter, writer, editor and author, he has more than three based decades of journalism experience and a unique combination of both print and broadcasting. He works with collegiate and world-class athletes including American Olympians. He also serves of the faculty of Loyola University School of Communication, teaching Sports Journalism.
For nine years, Minkoff anchored sports reports for WGN Radio (720 AM), Chicago. He hosted weekend Sports Central shows and Cubs and Bears pre and post-game programs.He served as a play-by-play announcer with the legendary Ray Meyer on DePaul basketball broadcasts. Prior to his role at WGN, he spent nearly 20 years with United Press International, including a decade as the Midwest Sports Editor
in Chicago. He has covered the Olympics, numerous Super Bowls, the Final Four, the NBA Finals, the World Series, and other major events. He has also served as state news editor of UPI Bureaus Iowa and Kentucky.
As a writer, Minkoff has been a nationally syndicated radio/TV critic and a contributor to Crain's Chicago Business. He is the author of "Ron Santo;For Love of Ivy", the biography of the former Cub third baseman
and his battle against diabetes. A native of St. Louis, MO., he is a graduate of Drake University School of Journalism. |
